The Big Question

In an age where everything is in question, we have one group that is calling things that are good as bad and things that are bad as good. Nothing is more prevalent than the 2 stances on abortion. Either you allow it or you disallow it. Those are the only two options. To say you only allow it for certain reasons is to say after being thrown in the lake that you are a little bit wet. No, folks, you are wet all over.

We have, pastors, priests and theologians declaring that Jesus might not be the only way to heaven. We even have a cult that ascribes itself to Jesus that says that very thing, there are other ways to heaven than besides the name of Jesus Christ.

This causes several things to happen. First, to say this, radically diminishes the value of what Christ did on the Cross. It causes people to not look at their real plight in terms of eternity. It perpetuates a lie. Nowhere else in the Bible has God given his people a ‘plan B’ or another way of escape.

The real question is not who your pastor, priest, Sunday School teacher says Jesus is, but ‘Who do YOU say that I am?’ as Jesus asked the disciples when in Caesarea. He confronted them head on with the tough question. They tried to respond by quoting others but he brought it back home with this burning question.

Matthew 16:13-20 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

13 Now when Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, Who do people say that the Son of Man is?

14 And they answered, Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.

15 He said to them, But who do you [yourselves] say that I am?

16 Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and [a]to be envied) are you, Simon Bar-Jonah. For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven.

18 And I tell you, you are [b]Peter [Greek, Petros—a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra—a [c]huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the [d]infernal region) shall [e]not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].

19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth [f]must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth [g]must be what is already loosed in heaven.

To deny that Christ is the ONLY way makes God and Jesus himself a liar. Now, we know ‘God is not a man that He can lie’… and Jesus only had our best interests at heart.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

You have no choice. Either in this life or at the Great White Throne Judgment, you will confess that Jesus is Lord over all. The problem is, if you wait until the judgment, it will be too late. If you don’t make the Rapture, you are in a very serious predicament and not likely to make the cut. But bow and confess, you will. Either now or then. The choice is YOURS and yours alone. God does not want you to wind up in Hell for eternity, He sent his son to die for you. That event cannot be diminished by any amount of liberal thought. It can only be made small by the workings of the mind.

The question is, Who do YOU say that Jesus is? Just another wise man as the Muslims say? Just another man as the liberals say. A figment of your imagination as the Atheists try to tell you? Or someone to be looked at as a goal, a mentor and a model of how to live as many of our liberal ‘Chrisitan’ churches try to tell you? Or is Jesus in fact, the Son of God, the Word made flesh, the one crucified as a sacrifice for YOUR sins, the third day he arose from the dead and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father..

The choice is yours and yours alone. Here is how to accept Christ as your Saviour and Lord of your life.
