Roman Road to Salvation.
How to Become a Christian
From the Book of Romans
Step 1. Know that God Loves You!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
God has a wonderful plan for your life!
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10b)
The Roman Road to Salvation is the most widely used tool to help bring a person to Christ. Read it out loud, especially the scriptures
Because of our sin, we are separated from God.
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (Romans 3:10)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
The Penalty for our sin is death.
Why, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed on all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12)
The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ!
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
The Good New is, God has provided a way for those who accept it.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins!
For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
..if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9,10)
To receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior all you have to do is make that confession with your mouth. If you would accept Him, pray this prayer out loud:
Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I need you to come into my life and take over. I give you my life freely and by faith claim the slavation that You alone offer. There is nothing I can do to make myself acceptable to you so I come just as I am. I accept your gift of salvation freely and without reservation and from this moment on, I will be a child of God and saved from the life I was leading. Come into my life now and fill me with your spirit that I might walk as you want me to walk. Thank you, Jesus and Praise God for what you have done for me. Amen
The words aren’t as important as the attitude and humbleness of heart. If you truly meant that prayer, you are now saved, a new creature. You are Born Again.
What do you do now? First,
Read and Study the Bible, start with the Gospel of John.
You should be baptized as a witness
Baptism identifies you with Christ.
Tell others about your decision.
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. (2 Timothy 1:8)
Find a good church and become a member.
This may be one of the hardest things to discern for a new Christian. Find a church that is teaching people, ministering to people, witnessing to people.. These are important in your new life as a Christian. Ask God to lead you where he wants you to be.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16)
Start being with other Christians.
It is important to start to associate with other believers. See how they live and act. Remember, they are not perfect, so don’t expect them to be, but learn from them, both the good and the bad. Get with them for meals, to study, to just talk and share. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works; not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24, 25)
Pray and Praise are important.
Praying is something you should do often.. many times a day. No certain times, just when you feel the need or want to talk to God. Praise is important because you are telling God how important He is to you and how much you appreciate what He has done for you.
Psalms 22:3 But You are holy, O You who are enthroned in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered].
And leave a comment to let us know of your to accept Christ as your Saviour!
