John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
John 15:13 No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.
We show our love for others by how we treat them.
If you saw someone you love driving up the off ramp of a crowded interstate highway, what would you do? Actions speak louder than words. Here is a chance for you to show to what degree you love them. There are several responses you could do..
1. Watch them as they drive up the ramp.
2. Call the police to stop them.
3. Honk and wave at them to try to get their attention
4. Call them on their cell phone.
5. Get in front of them and block their path to ensure they can’t proceed
How much do you love that person?
2 Tim 4:3 (AMPC) For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold,
When you look around at the people in your life, how much do you love them? How do you show that love? If you are truly a believer, you must believe in Rom 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. If we truly believe the Scriptures, without Christ in their lives, the people around you are going to split Hell wide open. There is only one solution for them and that is to accept Christ as their personal Saviour, otherwise, they will be subject to exactly the same fate as was the people in Noah’s day that scoffed and ridiculed and mocked Noah.
Noah preached his message for 120 years. Every day. the people around him were mocking him for building an ark in the middle of dry ground. There was not a sea or ocean in sight. Yet, Noah continued to follow the dictates of God. As sure as they were warned, the people that were mocking, ridiculing and ignoring Noah perished. Man, woman and child, they all suffered the same fate.
As it was in the days of Noah, God’s elect had the task of warning the people, not saving them, but telling them of their impending doom if they did not turn to God. Today, it still falls up on God’s elect, the Church to warn people.
When you look back through history, true revival outbreaks were not caused by a great Worship Team, not by a slick presentation, slides on the wall showing pictures, lyrics and scriptures, not by comfortable seating and air conditioning, not by a 5th Sunday singing and dinner on the grounds. True revival breakout was when the Word of God was unashamedly proclaimed from the pulpit and from the mouths of the people of the Church.
And I, if and when I am lifted up from the earth [on the cross], will draw and attract all men [Gentiles as well as Jews] to Myself.
It is the preaching of the Cross that brings man to repentance and deliverance. Only through the Christ can one be saved.
1 Corinthians 1:18-31 (KJV)
If the world is going to hear about Jesus Christ, it is up to each of us to be doing our part at every instance. If we tell others and they don’t listen, there is nothing more that we can do. However, if they do listen and come to Christ, a soul has been saved and you have gained a brother or sister. There is more joy in heaven over the one lost soul that is found than all the rest that are already there.
Take time to share Christ with someone today. Pray that God would open the door and then give you the courage and wisdom to talk to that person and share the Gospel with them. May God bless all your efforts as you reach out to others.
